Umhlabuyalingana CMC has emerged victorious in the KZN Legislature Poetry and Speech Contest. Ozabeni Primary represented by Mpendulo Bukhosini took number 1 in poetry, Ekuthukuzeni Primary took number 6 in Speech contest both representing umkhanyakude District and Umhlabuyalingana CMC. 

 The contest saw participation from more than 74 primary schools in the province, with Umkhanyakude District managing to dominate the top 10.

The selection of winners was based on the content of the video, shooting of the clip, gestures and votes. Manguzi News group on Facebook, parents, teachers and learners are thanked for casting their votes.

Contestants won CERTIFICATE and HP Laptop respectively from MTN.

Ekuthukuzeni Primary Celebrates Tech Whizzes at Mini Graduation

Ekuthukuzeni Primary School buzzed with excitement on 10 May 2024 as grade 4-7 learners received certificates in this mini graduation ceremony. These young scholars were celebrated for successfully completing a basic computer training program, a testament to their dedication and newfound digital skills.   Cebolenkosi Mthembu, popularly known as Mr Vibe, a successful TV personality and radio disc jokey hailing from Manguzi in KwaZulu-Natal, celebrated his birthday in a unique way this year. He decided to give back to his community of birth by donating shoes to six schools where he had spent his formative years. The schools include Manguzi Primary School, Maputa Primary School, Shayina High School, Star of the Sea High School, Shengeza High School and Masulumane Primary.  Mr Vibe's initiative is aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged children who often lack basic necessities such as shoes.
