Illegal immigrants are taking advantage of a small, unguarded border crossing located in Manguzi.

This illegal gateway, known as Gate 6, has been causing conflict among local communities who are concerned about the safety of their neighborhood.

According to reports, hundreds of undocumented immigrants are using Gate 6 on a daily basis to cross into South Africa from Mozambique. This practice is not only illegal but also poses potential security risks in the area.

Some community members have become increasingly outraged at the situation and are calling for immediate action to be taken against Gate 6. They argue that the unchecked influx of migrants is straining public resources and increasing competition for jobs, housing, and basic social services.

"The government needs to close this illegal crossing point immediately," said one local resident, who wished to remain anonymous. "We cannot continue to tolerate this kind of lawlessness in our community."

The Department of Home Affairs has acknowledged the existence of Gate 6 and assured residents that they are working tirelessly to secure the country's borders. However, due to the remote location of the crossing and limited resources available, it can be difficult to monitor illegal activity effectively.

The ongoing struggle over Gate 6 (KwaPhuza) highlights the complex challenges facing South Africa regarding immigration and border control. While many recognize the positive contributions that immigrants can make to society, others believe that unchecked migration poses significant risks to national security and social cohesion.

As the debate continues, both advocates and opponents of undocumented migration agree that more must be done to promote safe and legal channels for individuals seeking refuge or better opportunities in South Africa. Only through constructive dialogue and effective cooperation between authorities and communities can these challenges be addressed effectively.
